🖍️ 3D-tober - 🥫 #14
This has been a very "artsy" month for me, more specifically been doing 3D designs with Spline. Supposedly a Halloween month too, but personally not a fan 👻.
Highlights of the month
📱 Started using a new pretty nice Lock Screen wallpaper.
🎟️ Attended ViteConf online.
🎨 Designed yet another 3D mascot.
🆙 Upgraded to macOS Ventura and iOS 16.1.
🌞 Got a free TEL3 sunshade pouch.
🤩 Tested the new iOS16 Live Activities from CityMapper.
⛰️ Remade 3D models from Monument Valley level 1.
🤚 Designed a 3D hand.
Interesting discoveries
1) Found an app that somehow manages to look like Apple Maps. 🗺️
2) Pretty cool article on the iconography of Apple Maps. 📍
Revisiting the iconography of Apple Maps - Mercury Blog — blog.mercury.io An updated examination of the point of interest (POI) icons in Apple Maps reviewing additions, subtractions, and revisions from iOS 8 to iOS 12.
3) Amazing explainer work by Yi Zhe Ang: K-Means Clustering 💁♂️
K-Means Clustering: An Explorable Explainer — k-means-explorable.vercel.app An Explorable Explainer of K-Means Clustering
4) Mini Sampa 3D, a 3D public transport map in São Paulo, modelled after @nagix's amazing Mini Tokyo 3D. 🚄

Story time
Being a seasoned KickStarter backer, I received *two* Kickstarter products this month. Quite a rare occasion but as always, late deliveries due to timeline shifts, etc from the makers.
First is a semi-failed Kickstarter project, "Mu Two | Next Generation 63W Dual USB Type-C Wall Charger".
Estimated delivery was supposed to be July 2020, but like most products on Kickstarter, it's expected to be delayed for up to a year. However, the pandemic affected their products and their efforts were totally obliterated. So they felt bad and decided to deliver their *older* products instead, Mu One instead of Mu Two.
It's not exactly what I backed for, but it's still better than nothing 🤷♂️.
Second is a successful Kickstarter project, "Tech Pouch: Modern Minimalist Organizer".
Estimated delivery was July 2022, but got delivered in October (3 months late)! 👏
It's a pretty normal pouch with nice sections for organization. The inner orange interior is a nice touch, bright enough so that I can see my stuff easily 👀
